Regular professional carpet cleanings are an integral part of maintaining a healthy home.

Carpeting expertly traps bacteria, dust mites, pet dander, viruses, soil, and other unwanted particles that cause health problems and permanent wear to the carpet fiber. Vacuuming regularly is important, but it can't keep these intruders from settling deep into the carpet fiber.

TRUST THE PIONEER CARPET CLEANERS EXPERIENCE

We are one of the first carpet cleaning companies in San Luis Obispo, California, serving the Central Coast since 1967 and have been voted "Best Cleaning Service in SLO County" for four years (2020-2023). Our experienced, highly educated cleaning engineers will leave your carpets looking fresh, clean, and revitalized.

Our cleaning processes are tailored to your unique cleaning needs and carpet fiber while following the carpet manufacturer's recommendations. Our primary cleaning method is hot water extraction, known as "steam cleaning." We also offer restorative cleaning processes for heavily soiled carpeting and for move-in and move-out cleanings.

Hot Water Extraction-

“Steam Cleaning”

Our multi-step signature hot water extraction process offers the deepest cleaning possible. We accomplish this with powerful truck-mounted equipment that heats water to 230 degrees F to thoroughly rinse the carpet fiber, along with specialty restoration tools designed to break up the toughest of spots. Our experienced cleaning engineers pair carefully chosen products considered 99.9% "green" to coincide with the carpet fiber. Fans are utilized throughout the cleaning process to expedite the drying process and equipment to protect walls, baseboards, hardwood floors, and everything in between. All of the products we use in our cleaning processes are safe for homes with children and pets. We offer customized cleaning processes for wool carpeting, Triexta, and other specialty fibers.

(Note: Hot water extraction is also known as "steam cleaning.")

Restorative Cleaning

Our Restorative Cleaning process is specifically designed for heavily soiled carpeting, move-in, and move-out cleanings. It utilizes equipment with rotary vacuum heads to perform hundreds of multi-directional cleaning passes while cleaning for the most thorough result. Our Restorative Cleaning service has saved homeowners and landlords thousands in carpet replacement costs on the Central Coast!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does the carpet take to dry?

After your cleaning appointment, your carpets should be mostly dry within 4-6 hours (please allow for an extended dry time if your carpeting is wool or after fabric protection application). We use air movers while we clean to expedite the drying process. Many factors can affect the dry time of your carpet, including airflow, humidity, and room temperature. It is good to open all available windows and doors to ensure good airflow and use ceiling fans to facilitate evaporation in your home.

Can I walk on the carpet after the cleaning before it is dry?

While wet, the carpet is particularly vulnerable to re-soiling. It can also pose a slipping hazard, so we recommend staying off the carpet as much as possible within the first four hours after the cleaning. Please be especially careful when using stairs and walking from freshly cleaned carpet to any hard surface, such as vinyl or tile. For your convenience, our cleaning engineer will provide you with booties for you and your family to wear when walking on the carpet before it has completely dried. However, it is best to keep children and pets off damp carpet until it dries.

Will all the spots and stains on my carpet come out?

It depends. We will pre-treat all spots with products specifically designed for your carpet fiber. Some everyday household products, like red wine, coffee, acne products, household spotters like Resolve, or bleach, can cause permanent discolorations that cleaning will not remove. Whether or not a spot will come out largely depends on what caused it and what products were used on it afterward. We will try our wide array of spotters before declaring a stain permanent.

How long does the carpet cleaning process take?

The duration of the cleaning process depends on various factors, including the size of the area to be cleaned, level of soiling, access, and whether any additional add-on treatments are requested. We can provide an idea of how long the cleaning appointment will take once we have seen the areas to be cleaned or a more general view over the phone with some information about your cleaning project. You do not have to stay for the entirety of the cleaning appointment.

If you prefer a contactless appointment, we are happy to arrange that with an entry method, contact available in case of any questions, and credit card on file.

Do I have to remove all my furniture to have my carpets cleaned?

No, you do not have to do that. However, the more exposed your carpet is at your cleaning appointment, the better. We recommend moving whatever small items you can, and we can clean around whatever is left. Most people prefer to leave their large, heavy items like bookcases or china cabinets in place. If you would like to have all of the carpeting in a room cleaned, you can remove all the furniture before our arrival.

Are the products that you use safe for kids and pets?

Absolutely! The health and safety of our clients and their loved ones are our #1 priority, which is why our products are safe for kids and pets of all ages. We use products specifically designed for residential homes, many of which are considered "green." All products used throughout our hot water extraction cleaning process are rinsed out, leaving fresh, clean carpet with no residues left behind.

How do you protect my home when cleaning with equipment and hoses?

Our cleaning engineers come equipped with special equipment to protect walls, floors, furniture, and everything in between. When you choose our company for your carpet or upholstery care, you can be confident that we will take all safety precautions to ensure your home will look better after we leave than when we came.

How often do I need to have my carpets cleaned?

The frequency depends on your lifestyle but typically every 6-18 months. Most carpet manufacturers require professional carpet carpeting annually using hot water extraction to maintain the warranty. If you have children or pets in the home, you may want to consider having it professionally cleaned more frequently.

Since professional cleanings remove soil and other debris that accumulates in the carpet and is abrasive to the carpet fiber, it's important to have it done regularly and avoid waiting until it "looks dirty," as that can cause permanent wear. Carpeting that is properly maintained can prolong its lifespan.
